DescriptionStraight-sided, raised body curves to applied, molded, splayed foot; applied, cast gooseneck spout with molded leaf at base and acanthus leaf at top of notched tip; two shaped sockets secure wooden, double c-scroll handle with grip, upper socket joined to body at molded shell extension; joined at lower body by disk and post; cast bird-in-flight finial on stepped, dome cover, hinge affixed to upper scroll handle socket and lid flange; rich repousse scrolls, shells and leaves chased and engraved over body and lid.
InscribedInscribed: engraved within asymmetrical rococo cartouche: griffin on one side, armorial on the opposite; arms of Micklethwait impaling Clopton, quartering Waller, Clarke, and Western.
