DescriptionWaist-length portrait. Long, gray white hair, high forlock, face turned to right 3/4. Severely painted, heavily lined face, gold spectacles. Black coat with roll collar and black waistcoat, black stock-tie, white collar and ruff showing slightly at waistcoat. Subject sits in red chair before dark background. Eyes green gray, looking intently to right. Red covered table, book and papers indicated at lower right. Composition clumsy (note in file)
