Inscribed on verso: The rude sketch. What I remember of the Battle of Bull Run I was entirely out of paper and pencils when it occured. The rebels are supposed to have stoelen Ge. Sigels baggage train. Gen. Sigel on whose staff I rode is seen in the foreground with his staff. Hospital to the left.
