DescriptionDesign for stained glass: two lancets. Left lancet shows Hope in white with pink sash, holding hand in cloud and palm in right hand. Right lancet shows Faith in blue over white, holding lamp, serpent twined around left wrist and hydra at her feet. Close treework backgrounds. Pencilled circle drawn at top between two lancets. Large leaf pattern with fruit drawn on verso.
Inscribedrecto upper left in pencil: HOPTON/ Scale 1/2" = 1' (black ink same hand); (lower center) "Hope Faith (pencil)/ CHANCEL (black ink- same); (lower right) 'The Property of Morris & co./ Merton Abbey/ Surrey (black ink- same); (above 2 lancets) 'Humility Faith/ Margaret" (penicl- sep. hand); (right side) "put Margaret here/ substitute s.
