Label TextThis tall chest of drawers is made of tiger maple with mahogany and bone inlay. It has rounded “ovolo” corners that cap three- quarter, ringturned colonnettes and reeded columns. The large drawers on either side of the smaller stacked pair are unusual and may have been used to store hats or other large items of clothing. All locks on the chest are decorated with bone in a vivid diamond pattern, and the drawer pulls are sheathed in brass with a portrait bust of Benjamin Franklin.Status
