DescriptionCarved and painted checkerboard enhanced by carved squares in relief in black and aubergine, bordered in yellow, in a beaded frame with black scalloped applied quarter-round spandrels. While checker boards are ubiquitous, the majority of them usually have the most rudimentary and utilitarian designs. Both the design elements and unusual color make this board distinctive. Adding to its allure is an evolved surface that when catching the light, enriches the color giving the board a most ethereal presence.
