Label TextIn 1814, Pembroke engaged Westmacott to help with the display of the art at his country estate of Wilton House. When Pembroke died in 1827, the sculptor created his memorial in the local parish church in Wilton, Salisbury. This bust copies the one Westmacott included atop that memorial; the classical drapery and fixed expression on the subject's face perhaps reflects its origin as a tomb sculpture.
