Label TextBorn in Cannes, France, to British parents, Ginner had first-hand knowledge of French Post-Impressionism. By 1909, he had settled in London, where he quickly became a figure in the art world. In 1911 , he was, with Walter Sickert, one of the founders of the Camden Town Group, and two years later of the London Group. Ginner espoused the concept of Neo-Realism, which he defined as "the plastic interpretation of life through the intimate research into Nature." Ginner's work often displays an interest in texture and pattern. These qualities are particularly evident in the pen work of this view of a park in London and contribute to its decorative quality.
