DescriptionA Ming dynasty Fahua-type porcelain potiche jar with lapis, turquoise and aubergine glazes. The design of figures represents a Gentleman scholar's officials (soldiers) at leisure. They are enjoying painting, drinking in a pavillion, and playing chess. There is also an attendant with musical instruments. The lid is carved out of teakwood.
